The day started off well from Grande Prairie with the hopes of making up some time. Unfortunately we noticed the axle seemed to be bending into shape a little like a banana. Not great. When really polite Canadians say "you should probably take a look at that eh" you know there's a problem.
Eric is nervously checking the axle every 30 minutes so it has been slow going. We got busy noticing the beautiful lakes and wildlife of BC (moose, black bear, and caribou oh my). But didn't realize how far in between gas would be on this route. We drifted into a beautiful stretch of lakes on fumes right before Fort Nelson.
We met another kindly Canadian at a repair shop and gave us some gas and suggested we could make it to Load Hot springs camp area. A great suggestion and a highlight of the trip so far. With the stress of wondering if we can limp and do the next being able to relax even for a little bit in the beautiful setting was wonderful. Will try to make it into white horse Yukon tomorrow as that's a bigger town with more resources. A French Canadian gave us a suggestion of tamarac welding in White horse.
